What I like about the market is that I’m never sure what I’m going to get. Go with an open mind! Take advantage of sales, seasons, and anything else that might drive prices down. Yes, it’s great to be able to buy whatever you want, but you can also let the seasons inspire you. Let’s apply the seasons to paleo. When caveman found an apple tree, he picked it bare. He didn’t say, “Oh, I feel like strawberries…”, and keep walking. Eat what’s plentiful. For some reason, the other day, organic chicken tenders were half price. I wasn’t passing that up. There’s about 2-3 ounces of tenders per bird. To buy a dozen, you usually have to buy a dozen split breasts, or pay a higher price. It’s impossible to get them “cheap”. They were there, I took them. A quick pan sear, and as you know by now, I love a bed of arugula. Very simple, very fast, and today very cheap.
