Meat and greens, greens, greens, not potatoes. Lose them. Grains are paleo public enemy, number one. But, potatoes are one of those things that fly under the radar because most consider them a vegetable. There are so many better choices for calorie intake. If you have a choice, why would you choose the less nutritious food? Get use to eating leafy greens at every meal rather than the empty calories in potatoes, breads and other starchy foods. This morning I had some stewed beef leftover from dinner and ate that with a pile of arugula. Arugula is a hearty leaf whose peppery taste pairs well with beef. Make eating greens a habit and you’ll reap the benefits of fewer calories and more nutrition.
